Thanks to the recognition that he achieved through his career as a professional studio musician, performer and teacher, and his role as musical director of the Rakatan Ballet, Barreto acts as music as well as artistic director in several projects. Encouraged by this occurrence and the increasing demand for versatility on the events ́ market, in 2019 he set out to found his own concerts-provider agency RB Projects. The ability to successfully interpret and lead different genres and groups and the originality of this project ́s proposal had it thrive immediately both in Cuba and abroad.

With this enriching seminar, you will delve into the world of Cuba’s musical language. This experience is not designed exclusively for drummers and percussionists, it is crafted for all music enthusiasts who wish to explore and comprehend the essence of Cuban music.
During our interactive sessions, we will cover the most renowned Cuban rhythms, as well as those of particular interest to our participants. We will explore the history and evolution of these rhythms, their interpretation in percussion, and the various ways they are executed, depending on the type of musical group and the genre’s fusions to which they may be applied.
Additionally, we will provide a series of exercises and examples that will enable participants to quickly and accessibly grasp this approach to the language of interpretation and improvisation in the context of Cuban rhythms and music.
